Can you predict who will experience pain in Crohn’s and Colitis?

Researchers at Queen Mary University of London are looking for people who have been diagnosed with IBD in the last 12 months to take part in a study about chronic pain in IBD.

Researchers want to better understand who is likely to develop pain as a symptom of their Crohn’s or Colitis and why it develops in some people.

Newly diagnosed patients (within 12 months of diagnosis) will be invited for questionnaires, physiological measurements, and mobile phone apps to collect information about psychological and physiological wellbeing (in the context of pain) over 18 months. There are 4 assessment periods at baseline, 6 months, 12 months and 18 months. Each assessment period lasts for 7 days. This study can be done entirely online/via your mobile phone and does not require any visits to a hospital.

You can take part in this study even if you do not experience pain related to your Crohn's or Colitis. As a token of appreciation, all participants will be entered into a prize draw for cash vouchers.

If you are interested in taking part, or would like more information about the study, please complete the form below.

By entering your details, you are not committing to take part, but your contact details will be forwarded to the researcher who will get in touch with you directly with more information. You will have the opportunity to change your mind at any time.

This research study is funded but NOT organised by Crohn's & Colitis UK and, therefore, we cannot take responsibility for your involvement in the research.
