How adults living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) in early adulthood adjust to living with a stoma

Researchers at Canterbury Christ Church University are looking for adults living with IBD and a stoma to take part in online interviews to share their experiences.

Researchers at Canterbury Christ Church University are looking for people aged 18 - 40, living with IBD and a stoma (either temporary or permanent) to take part in an online interview to discuss their experiences of adjusting to living with a stoma.

For many people getting a stoma may happen during early adulthood and may significantly impact several aspects of their life.  However, there is little research about what it’s like to live with a stoma during early adulthood. This study is aiming to explore and understand how adults living with IBD adjust to living with a stoma. The researchers hope that this will improve post-stoma care.

If you take part, a researcher will talk to you online and ask questions about your experiences of living with a stoma. This is expected to take around one hour.

You can part if you are:

  • aged between 18 - 40
  • living with Crohn's or Colitis
  • living with a stoma (temporary or permanent)

If you are interested in taking part, or would like more information about the study, please complete the form below.

By entering your details, you are not committing to take part, but you will be directed to the study webpage for more information. You will have the opportunity to change your mind at any time.

This research study is NOT organised by Crohn's & Colitis UK and, therefore, we cannot take responsibility for your involvement in the research.
