Our finances

2020 was a challenging year for many charities, and we were no exception. Lockdown had a huge impact on our fundraising income, which fell by 29%, and we needed to reduce our costs by at least the same amount.

We adapted our services to cut costs, with many activities going online. But to rebuild, our toughest decision of 2020 was our restructure. With great reluctance we made 12 staff members redundant.

These difficult financial decisions meant we could continue supporting people with Crohn's and Colitis throughout the pandemic and focus on what mattered to them.

This reorganisation of our services and resources had a positive effect. 2021 was record-breaking year and we're grateful to everyone who enabled us to continue supporting, campaigning for, and empowering our community into the future.
