How we produce our information

We have recently been awarded the PIF TICK. The PIF TICK is the UK-wide quality mark for health information. It is a sign of health information you can trust.

The PIF TICK scheme is ran by the non-profit Patient Information Forum (PIF).

We follow strict processes to make sure our information is based on up-to-date evidence and easy to understand.

To be awarded the PIF TICK means we must meet 10 key steps:

  1. Our information is created using a consistent and documented process.
  2. Our staff are trained and supported to produce high-quality information.
  3. Our information meets an identified consumer need.
  4. Our information is based on reliable, up-to-date evidence.
  5. People living with Crohn's or Colitis are involved in the development of health information– through our Readers panel.
  6. Our information is written in plain English.
  7. Our print and digital information is easy to use and navigate.
  8. Users can give feedback on information.
  9. Our information is promoted to make sure it reaches those who need it.
  10. The impact of information is measured.
