What does the role involve?

We’ll contact you to ask for your help in producing new or updated information resources. Most of the time this means providing feedback on a draft video, webpage or infographic. But sometimes, we might ask for your help in creating a plan for a new resource.

When we send you a draft we will also send you a feedback form. This is not a writing, editing or proofing role, so we don’t ask you to comment on the grammar or punctuation. We will contact you for roughly one to three projects a year. You’ll normally have a couple of weeks to provide your feedback. If for any reason you cannot complete a review (for example, if you’re unwell or on holiday), you can just let us know and we’ll ask another volunteer.

If you have limited internet access, or emails and online forms don't work well for you, let us know. We can post you printed versions of our draft webpage and infographic resources for feedback instead.

Who can become an Information Feedback Volunteer?

You do not need any other specialist training or knowledge. All we ask is that you live in the UK* and can use your personal experience to comment on our information.

There is no age restriction on who can become an Information Feedback Volunteer. But if you are under 18 you will need to provide consent from a responsible adult.

*If you sign up to become an Information Feedback Volunteer and then move abroad you can remain an Information Feedback Volunteer for up to 3 years.
