Picturing IBD Fatigue: Understanding the lived experience of fatigue in young people with IBD

Researchers at University of Gloucestershire are looking to understand more about how young people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) live with fatigue. They are recruiting young people aged 13-18 to join a study looking at their experiences of fatigue.

This study by researchers at the University of Gloucestershire is looking to understand more about how young people (aged 13-18) live with fatigue and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

By taking part you will help researchers to understand what it is really like for young people to live with IBD. This research will inform future research and resources available to help improve the lives of all young people living with IBD.

During the project, you will be asked to use your own phone or camera to take pictures of things, places or
moments which mean ‘fatigue’ to you. These pictures can be taken anytime over the three
months of the study and in any safe space. Participants will be given a link to a private, password protected Padlet webpage where they can upload photos along with a written or voice note description.

To be eligible to take part you must:

  • Be aged 13-18
  • diagnosed with Crohn's or Colitis
  • experience fatigue
  • have access to a device that can take photos and upload them to the internet
