PAVFCOMS - Pouch anal and vaginal fistula core outcome measurement set

Researchers at St Mark's the National Bowel Hospital are looking for people who have experienced fistula as a result of pouch surgery to take part in online surveys to help them create a core outcome measurement set which will be used to improve outcomes for patients.

This new study by researchers at St Mark's the National Bowel Hospital is looking to create a standardised method for recording outcomes for pouch surgery and vaginal fistulae. They are looking for adults who have been diagnosed with or treated for fistula related to pouch surgery to help them identify the best ways to measure outcomes such as pain, incontinence, and impact on quality of life.

This study will involve 2 – 3 online surveys, each taking approximately 15 minutes to complete, over the course of 12 weeks. You will have the choice to attend a hybrid meeting to decide on the final measurement set (attendance at this meeting is optional).

To take part you must be:

  • Over 18 years of age
  • Living in the UK
  • Have ever been diagnosed with or treated for a fistula related to pouch surgery.

If you are interested in taking part, or would like more information about the study, please complete the form below.

If you have any questions about taking part you can contact the research team directly by email: lnwh-tr.pavfcoms@nhs.net
