Understanding the healthcare needs of people with mental illness and chronic pain.

Researchers at Royal Holloway University of London are looking to conduct interviews with people living with mental illness and chronic pain in a new study looking to better understand healthcare needs.

Researchers at Royal Holloway, University of London would like people living with mental illness and chronic pain to take part in a survey as part of a new research study.

To take part you must:

  • experience chronic pain for at least 3 months due to your Crohn's or Colitis
  • experience symptoms of depression, bipolar, or psychosis
  • be aged 18 years and over.

There are many individuals diagnosed with chronic pain and severe mental illness. At present, there is limited knowledge of how the needs for healthcare of both conditions are met. Researchers want to speak with individuals to understand what their experiences of living with chronic pain and mental illness are, and what health behaviours should be put in place, to promote a better care for their dual needs.

Interviews can be conducted remotely or in-person and will last about 1.5 hours.

If you are interested in taking part, or would like more information about the study, please complete the form below.

By entering your details, you are not committing to take part, but you will be forwarded to the study webpage. You will have the opportunity to change your mind at any time.
