Experiences of psychological therapy in individuals with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).

Researchers at University of the West of England are looking for adults who have had some psychological therapy related to their Crohn's or Colitis diagnosis to take part in a one-off interview to explore the ways that psychological therapy can affect how people deal with their Crohn’s and Colitis.

This research is aiming to explore experiences of psychological therapy in relation to Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). It will explore the accessibility and availability of therapy, perceptions of therapist knowledge of IBD, and usefulness of therapy for individuals.

Researchers will be holding interviews with people to learn more about their experiences of psychological therapy for their Crohn's or Colitis, including how they accessed therapy, how helpful therapy was for them, and how much their therapist knew about Crohn's and Colitis.

To take part you need to be

  • 18 years or older
  • diagnosed with Crohn's or Colitis
  • have engaged with some form of psychological therapy related to your Crohn's or Colitis diagnosis
  • be able to discuss your experiences with a researcher in an online interview

Interviews will be held online via Microsoft Teams and will last around one-hour. The audio will be recorded for analysis.

If you are interested in taking part please complete the form below.

By entering your details, you are not committing to take part, but your contact details will be forwarded to the researcher who will get in touch with you directly with more information. You will have the opportunity to change your mind at any time.
