Digital support for young people with Crohn's

Researchers at Aston University have developed a new digital support programme for young people living with Crohn's disease called Assist-IBD. They are looking for young people living with Crohn's to test the digital platform, alongside their parents/guardians.

The programme was designed with young people with Crohn’s disease to help other young people to follow their treatment plan.

ASSIST-IBD covers a range of topics and includes interactive activities and videos to help young people to live well with IBD. In each topic, young people are supported to set a goal to overcome a barrier they experience to following their treatment plan.

There are also separate resources for parents/guardians to help support their teenager while they use ASSIST-IBD.

The research team want to give young people and their parents/guardians access to ASSIST-IBD for 12 weeks. After this, participants will be invited to an online interview with a researcher to understand what they thought of the platform.

The aim of the study is to learn about:

• Young people’s and parents’ experiences of using ASSIST-IBD
• What ASSIST-IBD is like to use - what do you like/dislike?
• Challenges young people face in completing ASSIST-IBD activities and topics

If you wish to take part, please contact the researcher directly at scretic1@aston.ac.uk.

This research study is NOT organised by Crohn's & Colitis UK and, therefore, we cannot take responsibility for your involvement in the research.
