Feedback on future research - gut microbiome rhythms

Researchers at University of Manchester are planning a research study to look at whether rhythms in the gut microbiome change during the day and how this impacts people living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). They want feedback from those living with IBD to help plan the study design.

Researchers at University of Manchester are looking for people to provide feedback on the design of a future study looking at gut microbiome rhythms. There is growing understanding that body rhythms are important for a healthy gut, but that body rhythms can be disrupted in people with gut inflammation.  Researchers hope this study will provide new insight to how body rhythms affect gut bacteria, and hope this will lead to new pathways for treating gut inflammation.

They are looking for people living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease who are experiencing, or have experienced, loose stools. They are particularly interested in those living with a stoma or who have had bowel surgery (although you do not need to have had surgery to be eligible for this opportunity).

You will be sent questions to answer via email.

If you are interested in taking part, or would like more information, please complete the form below.

By entering your details, you are not committing to take part, but your contact details will be forwarded to the researcher who will get in touch with you directly with more information. You will have the opportunity to change your mind at any time.
