Other ways you can support your staff

  • Be flexible:
    • Don’t make it mandatory for people to have their cameras on during meetings. If people aren’t feeling 100% they may appreciate this flexibility.
    • Offer remote and flexible working hours where possible. This will not only improve employee well-being but also productivity and job satisfaction.

  • Communicate:
    • Set up a communications channel via your internal networks for people either who have an invisible disability or for those interested in supporting. Just offering a safe space to talk can make a difference.

  • Promote:
    • Promote your campaign pledge badge externally on some aspects of your company literature such as email signatures, recruitment packs, website etc.
    • Illustrate, through a case study, the work that you are doing within the invisible condition space. Publish it on your website and we will promote the content across our social channels and Not Every Disability is Visible website.
    • Appoint an Invisible Condition Rep as a point of contact to signpost colleagues towards the campaign resources and relevant company policies or employee assistance programmes. We have a training guide which covers the specific remit of this role (which is not an advice-giving role).
    • Facilitate the sign up of any sister companies and / or suppliers to the campaign.

  • Measure:
    • Measure the difference you’re making. We can help provide a short survey and the questions can be incorporated into existing staff surveys so you can measure your impact.

We’d love to hear what you do to make things better.

Email us so we can share what you're doing with others.
