We're hosting and sharing a range of education resources for Community Pharmacists, aiming to increase their knowledge of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and particularly focusing on the importance of Early Diagnosis. See below for what is in store.
Resources for Community (Primary Care) Pharmacists
By raising awareness and increasing understanding of the presenting symptoms, community (primary care) healthcare professionals will be encouraged to refer people with suspected Crohn's or Colitis to a GP earlier and, as a result, support earlier diagnosis.
Primary care diagnostic pathway for lower GI conditions
The primary care diagnostic pathways for lower gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms have been created to support healthcare professionals to shorten time to diagnosis, reduce variation and improve adults' experiences of care. They are endorsed by RPS, RCGP, BSG, and BSPGHAN.
Now updated: RCGP Inflammatory Bowel Disease Toolkit
This IBD toolkit aims to be a 'one-stop-shop', a user-friendly guide to IBD for GPs and other primary care professionals. You will need to create a free login to access the toolkit.
