Researchers at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital are recruiting both identical and non-identical twins where at least one has Inflammatory Bowel Disease for a study of "Non-Genetic Factors in the Pathogenesis of IBD.

This study focuses on the bacteria within the gut and the changes to packaging and regulation of DNA which occur throughout our lifetime. 

Who can take part?

  • Identical twins and non-identical twins
  • Either one or both twin diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis
  • Over 18s

What does taking part involve?

Taking part involves donating a sample of blood, urine and stool. Researchers will collect all samples from participants at home in a single visit.
