This inaugural award recognises the huge impact that Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) digital leaders are making within the charity sector.
Initially joining the charity on a short-term contract to manage the launch of our previous website in 2013, Mitesh Gandhi has stayed for seven years and transformed the organisation's digital communications and marketing.
If you have visited the charity's main website or various microsites, followed its ever-growing online channels or downloaded the immersive 'In My Shoes' app, then you have experienced just some of Mitesh's innovative work.

Award nomination
Mitesh keeps those living with Crohn's and Colitis at the heart of our digital strategy and maturity; he has ensured the charity's digital channels and content are accessible for all users.
Under Mitesh's leadership, Crohn's & Colitis UK's social media audiences have grown from 30,000 to 335,000 followers. This includes developing one of the most engaged UK charity pages on Facebook, and starting up our Instagram and Facebook Forum from scratch.

I am absolutely delighted just to be shortlised for this award and be amongst some very talented digital champions within the charity sector.
I dedicate this nomination to all of our amazing supporters, some of which are my friends, family and colleagues. The Crohn's and Colitis community are so engaged online and very passionate about raising awareness of these debilitating diseases. They have inspired me to keep improving our digital offering and also helped motivate me to stay at the charity for this long.
