Big Winter Workout 2025 Event Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to Big Winter Workout 2025 organised by Crohn’s & Colitis UK.

REGISTRATION 

  1. Registration for Big Winter Workout 2025 is free. If you are unable to take part in the event after completing your registration, no refund will be due.
  2. Participants must register via the Facebook registration form to be officially registered to Big Winter Workout 2025.
  3. Participants must register individually to receive a FREE Big Winter Workout Technical top (while stock lasts. We have limited stock, once all stock is gone you will receive a big winter workout t-shirt)
  4. Participants who have registered for three or more challenges without engaging in fundraising activities will not be eligible to receive any incentives.
  5. You must be aged 16 or over to register for this event. If you are under the age of 18, we advise you to take part with a parent, guardian, or someone aged 18 or over.
  6. Crohn’s & Colitis UK is not responsible for technical faults, errors, or crashes during the online registration process. 

 SAFETY 

  1. Participants taking part in Big Winter Workout 2025 do so entirely at their own risk and are responsible for selecting safe and achievable activities to complete
  2. Crohn’s & Colitis UK understands that people of all levels of fitness are keen to support the Participants who have any doubt about their physical health or have a medical condition that could be affected by exercise should obtain their doctor’s approval before participating. 
  3. Crohn’s & Colitis UK will not be held accountable for any illness or injury sustained while participating in this event. 
  4. It is strongly advised that all participants wear appropriate clothing and footwear and stay hydrated whilst participating. 

 FUNDRAISING

  1. All funds raised by participants taking part in Big Winter Workout 2025, are raised for the sole purpose of benefiting Crohn’s & Colitis UK and those who receive the support from the services provided. 
  2. Participants are encouraged to use their Facebook, Social Sync, JustGiving or GoFundMe Fundraising page to collect sponsorship for this event.
  3. We welcome and encourage users to customise messages on fundraising pages and to leave comments when making donations, however, Crohn’s & Colitis UK is not responsible for the content of any fundraising page created for this event.
  4. Participants raising £150 or more will receive a branded Big Winter Workout medal. To qualify for this free gift the participant is required to have raised £150 or more in donations on their Facebook fundraising page or paid into Crohn’s & Colitis UK by Saturday 15th February 2025.
  5. Medals will be sent to qualifying participants up to 1 month following the end of the event to the address provided to Crohn’s & Colitis UK on sign-up.
  6. A weekly top fundraiser will be run for all participants. The prize top five fundraisers each week will receive a Coffee Cup, Exercise belt, and Snood.  The competition will run from 2nd December 2024 to 2nd February 2025 – (Terms and conditions apply)
  7. The Fundraising Regulator encourages all fundraisers to be familiar with the Online Fundraising Code of Practice

 GIFT AID

  1. Please ask all those who sponsor you to tick the Gift Aid box if eligible. Gift Aid increases the value of individual donations and sponsorship by 25p for every £1 donated at no extra cost to the donor. This means even more money goes to Crohn’s & Colitis UK. 
  2. If you are a UK taxpayer, you are encouraged to claim Gift Aid when donating your own money to your fundraising page by ticking the Gift Aid declaration if eligible.
  3. If you pay in money to your fundraising other than the money you are donating to Crohn’s & Colitis UK personally (eg. Cash from collections, family members, ticket sales, and any activity where you get something in return for your money) you cannot claim Gift Aid.

 PERSONAL DATA

  1. We advise users to avoid posting personal information about themselves or someone else (eg. addresses, telephone numbers) when writing on a fundraising page.
  2. All personal data that you are asked to provide when setting up a fundraising page and/or making a donation will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  3. We will also use your personal details to send you communications about the event.
  4. By participating in this challenge and sharing pictures on our Facebook page, you agree that we may use these pictures for future marketing purposes. However, if you do not wish your pictures to be used in this way, please get in touch with us to let us know at fundraising@crohnsandcolitis.org.uk . We respect your privacy and will honour your preferences.

Participants are responsible for reading the terms and conditions and privacy policy for all third-party platforms including Facebook.
