Research Involvement Support

Crohn’s & Colitis UK can help researchers recruit people affected by Crohn's or Colitis into studies as participants or into research involvement/engagement opportunities.  Please see below for further details.

It will be at the discretion of our Research team to decide whether or not the research is eligible for support and if so, how this is provided, but as standard we would advertise eligible studies on our website under Research Involvement Opportunities and tweet it from our Crohn's & Colitis Research Twitter account @CrohnsColitisR

Take Part in Research

Our Take Part in Research programme helps to facilitate and support recruitment of patients into ethically approved clinical research.

If you are a researcher and would like your study to be considered, please review our policy and complete our Take Part in Research form.

We only accept applications from the Principal Investigator of the study. Studies conducted by BSc level candidates and below will not be accepted.

If you have any questions, you can get in touch at researchinvolvement@crohnsandcolitis.org.uk.

Shaping Research

Crohn’s & Colitis UK supports research which reflects patient views and priorities, and encourages and enables anyone who wants to take an active role in shaping research. We believe that involving people affected by Crohn's & Colitis at all stages of research produces higher quality and more relevant research, which in turn is more likely to receive funding.

For patient involvement to have the greatest benefit for your research we recommend you adopt the INVOLVE values and principles.  These values and principles have been co-developed by researchers, patients and involvement professionals to help you deliver best practice. Please refer to the INVOLVE National Standards.

If you are a researcher and would like your involvement opportunity to be considered, please review our policy and complete our Shaping Research form.

If you have any questions, you can get in touch at researchinvolvement@crohnsandcolitis.org.uk
