Crohn's and Colitis Awareness Week

From 1st – 7th December, join us for Awareness Week as we launch our Face the Facts campaign.

With your help, we’ll reveal to the world what life is really like living with Crohn’s or Colitis. This year, we’re sharing findings from the IBD UK report with politicians and key decision-makers demanding change. But to make them listen, we need you and your story.

Add your voice and together let’s make it impossible to ignore the urgent need for change.

Face the Facts

Crohn’s and Colitis affect over 500,000 people in the UK, significantly impacting their health, daily lives, and wellbeing. Despite progress in awareness and treatment, we know many people with Crohn’s or Colitis still face unmet needs in care, support, and understanding from the broader community and healthcare system.

To address these gaps, we commissioned the IBD UK report – the biggest ever survey of people living with Crohn’s or Colitis in the UK. Over 17,000 of you shared your experiences, and the findings are clear: IBD services are overstretched and under-resourced, which is having a damaging impact on the mental and physical health of those living with the conditions.

We’re now calling on politicians, pharmaceutical partners, and leaders in the charity sector to Face the Facts in the IBD UK report and confront the urgent issues facing IBD care.

Add your face

This Awareness Week, join us on social media as we push for a future where everyone living with Crohn’s or Colitis has access to the highest standards of care. Share your story and post your photo using #FacetheFacts to show the real people behind the IBD UK Report.

Virtual Social Events

During Awareness Week, join us at our Virtual Social Events. These online events are a chance to chat, share experiences and potentially learn from others affected by Crohn's and Colitis.

Details for the events can be found below, we really hope you can join us.

Sat, 7 Dec 2024 | 10:30 - 12:00 GMT

Sharing Experiences from the Frontline

We’re highlighting members of our community.

Meet Sheila, the very first IBD Nurse who paved the way for better Crohn's and Colitis care and Sophie, who's personal journey offers a glimpse into some of the challenges facing those through diagnosis and the difference that can be made every day with support and awareness.

Their stories are a powerful reminder of why it’s essential to listen, share, and add your voice to the call for meaningful change.

Why are so many with IBD suffering in silence?
