Developing an intervention to help nurses improve the assessment and care of the sexual health needs of men with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (MenSH-IBD)

Researchers at York St John University are looking for people over 18 years of age with Crohn's or Colitis who identify as male, to complete a survey on sexual health as part of the MenSH-IBD research study. 

This study is looking at improving the care of the sexual health and well-being needs of men with Crohn's and Colitis. There is growing recognition that Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) can negatively affect sexual health and impact on patients' relationships and quality of life. This study is looking at men's needs for care in this area.

To take part you need to

  • be diagnosed with Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, or IBD Unclassified, and
  • identify as male, and
  • be over 18 years of age.

This is an online survey which should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. Participants can choose to leave their contact details if they wish to participate further in the study (interviews & focus groups in 2025). Any participants providing contact details are also entered into a prize draw.
