Researchers at the University of Central Lancashire are looking for 4-10 people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) who live in the Preston area to help design a new research study.
The study will consider the important research questions that need to be answered for IBD by looking for existing evidence using a Cochrane Collaboration systematic review.
The Cochrane Collaboration was set up over 20 years ago to help answer research questions across different diseases by searching through worldwide research data. Findings are published online in the Cochrane Library for all to see.
Each systematic review addresses a clearly formulated question. IBD patients can help by providing these questions and deciding on which are the most important to them as a patient. The reviews also help to identify gaps in research.
Those interested in taking part would need to be able to attend a meeting at the University, which is located near Preston, on the afternoon of Monday 16 January 2017. Refreshments and local travel expenses will be offered.
It is hoped with patient input that funding for this research will be obtained from the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) - a government funded body.
