Pain and IBD

Pain and IBD

Researchers at King’s College London, led by Professor Christine Norton and PhD student Louise Sweeney, are looking for people to take part in a study.

This new study is funded by Crohn’s and Colitis UK and will investigate pain in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). As part of the research, the team is asking for individuals with IBD to fill out a set of questionnaires. The questionnaires will ask about aspects of individual’s IBD, any levels of pain you may be experiencing, your daily functioning and well-being. This information will help to inform the development of a self-management treatment program for IBD patients experiencing ongoing pain.

We are inviting all individuals with IBD to take part. If you do not experience pain, either related to your IBD or another condition you may have, we are still interested to hear of your story and experiences. To take part, you need to have a confirmed diagnosis of IBD, be able to read and write spoken English and be at least 16 years old.

You would be asked to complete a questionnaire which would take approximately 20-30 minutes. If you are interested in taking part in the study and would like to know more information, please contact the lead researcher, Louise Sweeney, by email - louise.sweeney@kcl.ac.uk.
