legacy of hope
Gifts in Wills play a vital part in us continuing to deliver the greatest difference to everyone affected by Crohn’s and Colitis.
An amazing 98% of funding for research projects comes from you, our supporters. This is something we are incredibly grateful for.
We know there is much work to be done so that people living with Crohn’s and Colitis can lead freer, fuller lives. We believe that everyone with IBD should have access to a specialist IBD nurse who lives with our values.
Across the UK, at least 100,000 people with Crohn’s and Colitis don't have access to a Specialist IBD Nurse and 63% of IBD services in the UK don't have enough Specialist Nurses to meet the needs of everyone affected.
We want to change this, and this year have launched a new programme to equip existing IBD nurses to become a Specialist IBD nurses, more able to deliver effective treatment to patients and improve their lives now and long into the future. Gifts left in Wills make this all possible.

IBD nurse specialists have been such an integral part of my diagnosis of Crohn’s but also in my management of the condition, it’s the support between appointments so you don’t feel isolated. It’s okay to have good and bad days. Having an IBD nurse specialist helps you not bottle things up till your next appointment.

We'd love to hear from you if you're thinking about leaving a gift in your Will.
I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease when I was 6. I know that the charity gave huge support to my parents at the time, and in the years since. The Can't Wait Card proved invaluable, and the information sheets were very useful to my family and teachers. The charity has provided information and support when I have started new treatments. It has been there to consult when I started a new job and needed to make my employers aware of my illness. It has been there when I wanted to start a family and became pregnant. In short, I feel indebted to the charity.

I was inspired to leave a gift in my will when I volunteered at London WALK IT and saw everyone giving it their all. There was a young lady who had done a sponsored swim across the channel - she was in her 20's. I thought if someone is prepared to do all that… then at least I can leave some money in my will to help. I don’t have a great deal of money, but I think it’s important. If everyone gave a little, that’s what builds up.
