Digital Project Assistant (Fixed term contract)

Closing date:  Monday 31 January 2022, 9am

About Us

We're the UK's leading charity for Crohn's and Colitis. Right now, an estimated 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that can profoundly affect their quality of life. And, because of the stigma surrounding these conditions, thousands of people are suffering in silence. But we are here to support and champion their cause.  We are growing our amazing team to deliver new and ambitious plans, you couldn’t be joining us at a more exciting time!

The role

Up to £24,000 per annum depending on experience
5 week Fixed term contract (17 February to 25 March)
Place of work: Remote

As we prepare to launch our exciting new Website Hub in March, we are looking for a number of highly motivated people to join our Digital team for 5 weeks starting on 17 February. We have the content for our new website already prepared but need to populate it in our new Content Management System (CMS). That’s where you come in – we’ll provide training for our new CMS and you’ll be working remotely, paired with an established member of the team, building hundreds of pages to a high standard in a short period of time. It will be challenging at times but you’ll gain lots of great experience as well as helping deliver a fantastic new resource for everyone affected by Crohn’s and Colitis.

About you

You must be confident using and learning new digital platforms, ideally with experience of using a Content Management System or page editor. Close attention to detail will be essential as you will be building hundreds of pages with significant volumes of text and images. Although we will work in weekly sprints focussing on specific sections of the website at a time, you’ll need to be organised and methodical, and work well in a team while being self-motivated and pro-active. You will be working remotely, must have access to a reliable internet connection and be available to work from 17 February to 25 March 2022.

If you like the sound of this position and think you have what we are looking for then it would be great to hear from you.

The future

The charity is at a really exciting point. We are in excellent financial health and moving to a new strategy which will give you the chance to put a personal stamp on the actions we are taking to improve the quality of life for people with Crohn’s and Colitis.

Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. But one thing we have learned from the pandemic, is that we are able to work very effectively from home. In this role, there is plenty of scope for doing that although there will be times when you will need to be at face-to-face meetings. It is possible therefore you could live almost anywhere in the country. If you want to be considered for the role but are worried about location, talk to us – it may work!
