Steven Sharp

Steven has supported Crohn's and Colitis UK following his diagnosis of Crohn's Disease in 2002. Among his impressive fundraising activities, Steven has held two fundraising balls and taken on a sponsored bungee jump. He is very proactive in raising awareness in Scotland and is a brilliant media volunteer.

Steven's passion for raising awareness even extends to the football team he coaches, Fauldhouse United, who proudly wear Crohn's and Colitis UK's logo on their kit.

Growing up, Crohn’s Disease wasn't really spoken about and I really was on a rollercoaster journey. After three surgeries and several chats with staff at Crohn’s and Colitis UK I knew I wanted to use my experience to help others, and by getting involved with the charity I could hopefully make a difference.

It's such an honour to be asked to be a Community Champion. I'm so passionate about helping raise awareness and in turn making a difference to anyone who is affected by IBD. I've worked hard over the last couple of years to raise awareness and funds for the charity along with a fantastic support network around me, so being named a Community Champion is the icing on the cake and something I'm extremely proud of.
