About Crohn’s and Colitis

Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are the two main forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, affecting more than 300,000 people in the UK.

Yet they are largely hidden diseases, and one that causes stigma, fear and isolation – it’s thought that many people with the condition go undiagnosed and suffer in silence. It doesn’t have to be like this.

We are the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis and we have over 50 pages of information to help inform anyone affected, including friends, family, medical professionals and even employers.

Find out more about the conditions, their symptoms and treatment – and how you can get a diagnosis if you think you have Crohn's or Colitis.

If you have any queries about the conditions, contact our dedicated Information Service.
