Run 60 Challenge - 2023 Event Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to Run 60 Challenge- A Run the Night event 2023 organised by Crohn’s & Colitis UK.

 REGISTRATION 

  1. Registration for Run 60 is free. If you are unable to take part in the event after completing your registration, no refund will be due.
  2. Participants must register via the Facebook registration form to be officially registered to Run 60.
  3. Participants must register individually to receive a FREE Run 60 T-shirt.
  4. You must be aged 16 or over to register for this event. If you are under the age of 16, we advise you to take part with a parent, guardian or someone aged 16 or over.
  5. Crohn’s & Colitis UK is not responsible for technical faults, errors, or crashes during the online registration process. 

 SAFETY 

  1. Participants taking part in Run 60 do so entirely at their own risk and are responsible for selecting manageable miles to complete throughout the month.
  2. By submitting a Registration Form the participant confirms that, to the best of their knowledge and belief, they are healthy and fit to take part in the Event, understand and have considered and evaluated the nature, scope and extent of the risks involved, and have voluntarily and freely chosen to participate in the Event entirely at their own risk.
  3. Crohn’s & Colitis UK understands that people of all levels of fitness are keen to support. Participants must acknowledge that participation in the Event involves physical activities and inherent risks and dangers of accidents, personal and bodily injury (including death) and property loss or damage. If they have any medical conditions that could be adversely affected by exercise, particularly a heart condition, or if they are in any doubt about their health, they must get clearance from their doctor before participating.
  4. Crohn’s & Colitis UK will not be held accountable for any illness or injury sustained while participating in this event. 
  5. It is advisable that participants have safe and appropriate equipment whilst participating in this event
  6. It is strongly advised that all participants wear appropriate clothing and footwear and stay hydrated whilst participating. 
  7. Crohn’s & Colitis UK does not provide any insurance, whether life or medical or liability, for any illness, accident, injury, death, loss and/ or damage that may arise in connection with the participation in the Event. Participants are advised to obtain such insurance themselves if required or desired.

FUNDRAISING

  1. All funds raised by participants taking part in Run 60, are raised for the sole purpose to benefit Crohn’s & Colitis UK and those who receive the support from the services provided. 
  2. Participants are encouraged to use their Facebook Fundraising page to collect sponsorship for this event.
  3. We welcome and encourage users to customise messages on fundraising pages, and to leave comments when making donations, however Crohn’s & Colitis UK is not responsible for the content of any fundraising page created for this event. 
  4. Participants raising £125 or more will receive a branded Run 60 medal. To qualify for this free gift the participant is required to have raised £125 or more in donations raised on their Facebook fundraising page or paid into Crohn’s & Colitis UK. Medals will be sent on the 18th September, 2nd October and 11th October 2023.
  5. First 150 to raise over £60 to receive a branded Run the Night head torch. To qualify for this free gift the participant is required to have raised £60 or more in donations raised on their Facebook fundraising page or paid into Crohn’s & Colitis UK.
  6. Top 250 participants raising £250 or more to receive a limited edition, exclusive running belt. To qualify for this free gift the participant is required to have raised £250 or more in donations raised on their Facebook fundraising page or paid into Crohn’s & Colitis UK by Friday 10th October 2023.
  7. The Fundraising Regulator encourages all fundraisers to be familiar with the Online Fundraising Code of Practice

 GIFT AID

  1. Please ask all those who sponsor you to tick the Gift Aid box if eligible. Gift Aid increases the value of individual donations and sponsorship by 25p for every £1 donated at no extra cost to the donor. This means even more money goes to Crohn’s & Colitis UK. 
  2. If you are a UK taxpayer, you are encouraged to claim Gift Aid when donating your own money to your fundraising page by ticking the Gift Aid declaration if eligible.
  3. If you pay in money to your fundraising other than money you are donating to Crohn’s & Colitis UK personally (e.g. Cash from collections, family members, ticket sales and any activity where you get something in return for your money) you cannot claim Gift Aid.

 PERSONAL DATA

  1. We advise users to avoid posting personal information about themselves or someone else (e.g. addresses, telephone numbers) when writing on a fundraising page.
  2. All personal data that you are asked to provide when setting up a fundraising page and/or making a donation will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  3. We will also use your personal details for the purpose of sending you communications about the event .
  4. Participants are responsible for reading the terms and conditions and privacy policy for all third-party platforms including Facebook.
